Program status: Awards depend on institution and intake
There is no single free Canadian government scholarship or sponsorship program available to every applicant from Afghanistan, Syria, Palestine, Ukraine or Somalia. Universities, colleges and nonprofit organizations set their own eligibility, award amounts and deadlines. An award does not itself grant a visa or study permit.
Search the financial-aid pages of schools you plan to attend. Some awards target students affected by displacement or specific groups; for example, the University of Victoria has described an entrance scholarship for Afghan women in engineering and computer science. Confirm current availability directly with the school.
World University Service of Canada's Student Refugee Program combines refugee resettlement and post-secondary education through participating campus committees. It has specific eligibility and recruitment locations, not an open invitation to all applicants.
Most international students must meet admission, financing, study permit and admissibility requirements. Scholarships may help with the financial evidence but do not replace the permit process.
