The International Mobility Program includes work permit categories where an LMIA is not required. Each exemption has its own criteria tied to the worker, role, employer or international agreement.

Identify the specific exemption code and supporting evidence. Check whether an employer offer must be submitted through the Employer Portal before the worker applies.
Important to know
LMIA-exempt does not mean permit-exempt, and an employer cannot simply choose an exemption because obtaining an LMIA is difficult.
