Admissibility / Canada Path guide

Criminal rehabilitation

A possible way to address some past criminal inadmissibility findings.

What to understand

Some people may qualify for individual rehabilitation, while others may be deemed rehabilitated under specific conditions. The offence, time elapsed and sentence completion affect the analysis.

What to prepare

Gather certified court records, police certificates and evidence of when all parts of the sentence ended. Compare your case with the current eligibility rules.

Important to know

Time passing alone does not resolve every case. Qualified advice is especially important where offence equivalency is disputed.

Check the official requirements

Program rules, eligibility, fees and processing times may change. This guide is general information, not legal advice or a guarantee of any outcome. Check the current government instructions before applying.
